Sis:<\/strong> Well, I don\u2019t care about Dad, your gold, or your so-called principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Me:<\/strong> It\u2019s for your own good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sis (sarcastically):<\/strong> I said, I don\u2019t care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Me (shouting):<\/strong> I don\u2019t care about you either! I\u2019m trying to help you, but if you want to be stubborn, go ahead\u2014do what you like!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, when Dad came home, he asked, \u201cHave you done my assignment?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I said, \u201cThat daughter of yours is so stubborn. She doesn\u2019t want to hear the truth. She\u2019s sold herself to the people of the clay\u2014and I don\u2019t care about her.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He looked at me and said gently, \u201cDaughter, follow peace with her. Through a gentle and quiet spirit, you can win her over.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then he asked, \u201cDid you pray for her to listen to me through you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had to admit, \u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said, \u201cI sent you as an ambassador to your siblings, but you can\u2019t do it in your own strength. Just point them to me. Their hearts are in my hands\u2014I will order them aright.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added, \u201cI will give you words of wisdom for every situation, words that cannot be resisted or turned down.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWow,\u201d I said. \u201cI never thought of it that way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He replied, \u201cYou didn\u2019t check the manual that was given to you on how to handle such issues. If you had read it, you would have known all these\u2014and more.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To all my fellow house-of-gold owners and ambassadors of Christ:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can\u2019t force people to see your light through sheer willpower or spiritual intimidation. That only pushes them further away. What they need is the expression of your gentle and quiet spirit, your sincere love, and your persistent prayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get on your knees. Hand them over to the One who owns their hearts\u2014He alone can cause them to yield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember to read your manual (the Bible). It contains the greatest principles for winning hearts and influencing lives, God\u2019s way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
